Becoming a busker at the SWEFM


Music and street performance are an important part of creating the ambiance of our market.  The SWEFM is a strong supporter of local talent and encourages performers of all walks of life to apply to participate in our market.  

We prioritize our buskers using a combination of the following criteria:

  • Local (within 100km) businesses receive the highest priority ranking.
  • Compliance to the 80/20 rule, in accordance with Alberta Approved standards. Priority will be accorded to Albertans businesses first and any out of area vendors will be restricted from offering products that are deemed to be in direct competition with an Albertan vendor. The Market Manager reserves the right to determine what constitutes a direct competition. 
  • To ensure an appropriate mix of talent, we reserve the right to limit buskers of any category.
  • In the event of a disproportionate amount of busker applicants from any given category, the Market Manager reserves the right to proceed on a "by audition or art submission" basis. 

All buskers must apply by filling out and submitting an application form.
